Netflix has launched Smart Downloads for iOS – a seamless way for members to download titles on the Netflix app.
The feature which first became available for Android in July 2018, will make it easier for members to watch the stories they love, including on the go, without chewing into their data. Once you have finished watching a downloaded episode, Netflix downloads the next one and automatically deletes the one you just watched.
Members need to be connected to Wi-Fi to download shows — and they can opt-out entirely if you choose.
When you finish watching a downloaded episode on your Netflix iPhone app, Smart Downloads will automatically download the next episode and delete the one you just watched when you’re next connected to Wi-Fi. You watch, and Netflix does the work. As part of our ongoing effort to make the mobile experience more convenient and fun for our fans, this feature will help members access amazing stories on the app more easily.
