A whole new group of contestants, a whole new set of ratings records to smash for My Kitchen Rules (1st – 1,801,000). Nothing else came close, though an indication that Thursday night isn’t the spot for Bones (6th – 916,000) or that the audience are done now that the sexual tension has been resolved. The Block All Stars (9th – 858,000) drops below 900,000 for the first time and there has to be concerns over the rest of the season – what twists and turns will come that will save it (it was still strong across all demos though)?
Timeslot winners (nationally):
6:00pm: Seven News – Ch7
6:30pm: Today Tonight – Ch7
7:00pm: Home and Away – Ch7
7:30pm: My Kitchen Rules – Ch7
8:30pm: Bones – Ch7
9:30pm: Footy Classified Special – Ch9
Channel 7 won the night (27%), followed by Channel 9 (18.8%), ABC1 (11.6%) & Channel 10 (9.5%).
Or maybe an indication that even though I watched a bit of tennis, and the odd thing or two on channel 7, I had no idea it was on until 9:15 when I was flicking channels.
It’s not exactly been promoted the way other shows have. Being a short season though, maybe 7 thinks it isn’t worth the effort?
