With the footy season coming to a close, TEN is hoping to attract a fresh audience with a new line-up of action-packed dramas, starting Saturday 8 October.
From a reinvention of the legendary series MacGyver to a squad of geniuses stopping cyber-attacks in Scorpion and cops busting beachside criminals on Hawaii Five-O, these are three series that prove nice guys do not always finish last.
MacGyver was a hero who defined a generation, with the iconic series achieving cult status during its seven-year run (1985 to 1992). Now, one of the world’s most-loved secret agents is back, reinvented and better than ever.
Twenty-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver is a different kind of hero. He does not use weapons and he is afraid of heights. But under the aegis of Phoenix, MacGyver takes on the responsibility of saving the world, armed with resourcefulness, bubble gum and a paper clip.
From the original series of MacGyver, Golden Globe Award winner Henry Winkler and creator and executive producer Lee Zlotoff return to executive produce this new series, alongside fellow executive producers Peter Lenkov, Michael Clear, Craig S O’Neill and Australian director James Wan (Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring, Furious 7).
The Saturday night action continues with the high-octane drama Scorpion. Inspired by a true story, Scorpion follows eccentric genius Walter O’Brien and his team of brilliant misfits in their fight against complex, high-tech threats.
With a stellar cast that includes Elyes Gabel, Robert Patrick, Katherine McPhee and Eddie Kaye Thomas, Scorpion returns for another round of heart-racing and suspense-filled action
Also on Saturday nights, crime-fighting unit Hawaii Five-O makes its seventh season debut. Australia’s Alex O’Loughlin returns to lead the all-star cast as Detective Steve McGarrett who works to wipe out crime on Oahu’s sun-drenched beaches.
Starts Saturday, 8 October on TEN & WIN.
Scorpion At 6.30pm.
MacGyver At 7.30pm.
Hawaii Five-O At 8.30pm.
